Former West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic is aiming to revive his flagging career with West Bromwich Albion.
Bilic experienced a roller coaster of emotions in his two and a half years as West Ham boss.
He lead the Hammers to their best ever Premier League points total and first positive goal difference since 1986.
Bilic also ensured an unforgettable final season at West Ham’s beloved Boleyn Ground culminating in that thrilling 3-2 comeback win over Manchester United.
Slaven’s rollercoaster West Ham ride
West Ham’s move to the London Stadium was beset by problems from the start.
And while Bilic kept the club up in their first season there, they looked doomed in their second season.
That cost him his job and to many extents his reputation.
A spell in Saudi Arabia ended in another sacking after just six months. And now the former West Ham player and manager finds himself in the Championship with West Brom.
‘Remember the good times’
Speaking to the press this week, though, Bilic asked for people to remember the good he did at West Ham too.
“The ending was unfortunate, but it was a great journey and I had some great times (at West Ham),” Bilic told the press, as reported by the likes of The Daily Star.
““Okay, so the finish was not good.
“But my time at West Ham was not just about the finish, remember (the good times too).
“Do I have unfinished business (at West Ham)? No, I don’t feel that way.”
Bilic’s special bond
Bilic has a special connection with West Ham.
He also oversaw one of the most turbulent stadium moves in modern history and did a great job of damage limitation.
The Croatian endured unrelenting interference from the club’s hierarchy too.
Overall he did a decent job and should always be remembered for brilliant send-off his team gave Upton Park that emotional season.
