Alan McInally absolutely raved about West Ham ace Declan Rice, when speaking on the Footy Accumulators podcast.

The 21-year-old Hammers star has now fully established him as a key player for both his club and country.

Declan Rice has been incredible for West Ham over the past two seasons or so.

And the London Stadium faithful absolutely love the 13-capped England international.

Rice has been heavily linked with an exit from West Ham since the summer, however.

Chelsea (The Times) and Manchester United (Daily Mail) have both allegedly shown interest in signing the 21-year-old midfielder.

Hopefully the Hammers owners back David Moyes in the transfer market, however, and prove to Declan that we can match his ambition. He really is so important to our hopes of achieving success in the future.

And Sky Sports pundit Alan McInally suggested that West Ham shouldn’t even consider selling the 21-year-old for anything less than £118 million, when speaking on the Footy Accumulators podcast:

“He is the best young player in the Premier League by a shooting mile, he is absolutely unbelievable. Talking about going back to Chelsea, I’m going to throw in [Manchester] City, [Manchester] United, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG and Juventus. That’s how good he is. Jadon Sancho, what was it they [Borussia Dortmund] wanted? Yes [€120m], well, I’m saying minimum £118m for Declan Rice for West Ham to even be interested in letting the boy go.”

Let’s hope the day never comes when we are forced to sell Declan Rice.

He is currently under contract with West Ham until the summer of 2024 and we have the option of extending that deal by a further 12 months.

So the Hammers currently hold all the cards.

It will be incredibly hard to keep him, however, should a club like Chelsea or Manchester United come in with a mammoth offer in January or the summer.

West Ham need to dig their heels in. We must show some ambition. And at least give Rice the belief that we are a club on the up.

Let’s be positive. The 21-year-old seems to be more than happy at West Ham. Now the onus is on us to provide him with the platform to go on and fulfil his potential.
