West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic netted twice during international duty. In the Euro 2020 qualifying game between North Macedonia and Austria, Arnautovic played a key role.
The 30-year-old scored a penalty in the second half to put Austria 2-1 up. And then, with eight minutes left, he sealed the victory with his second goal of the game.
Austria ended up winning 4-1 against North Macedonia and they now sit third in Group G. After four games each, they are six points off Lukasz Fabianski’s Poland, who sit at the top.
Marko Arnautovic: Love him or loathe him?
Arnautovic splits opinion in the East End. The Austrian forward is a maverick talent and he can be unplayable on his day. In the past two seasons, he has scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists for the Hammers.
But last January, he tried to force a move through to China. And since that moment, some fans have been reluctant to welcome him back into the West Ham team.
Once again, this debate was reopened after his international heroics. Here are some tweets from West Ham fans discussing whether Arnautovic should be kept on.
Arnautovic with 2 goals tonight, we must keep him this season.
