West Ham United are in a rut and no-one more so than record signing Sebastien Haller.
West Ham have failed to win for eight matches. It is a run that has seen Manuel Pellegrini’s side slide from third to 17th in a tightly-congested Premier League table.
Hapless goalkeeper Roberto has been at the centre of the dismal run.
But record £45million signing Haller has also proved an immense disappointment.

After a great start to life with the Hammers which saw him score four goals in his first four games, Haller has cut an isolated, ineffective and at times disinterested figure up front.
Some fans argue Pellegrini is failing to get the best out of the powerful Frenchman.
Others want to see more effort, dynamism and quality from their most expensive signing of all time.
Haller is offering no answers to West Ham’s problems of late.

And he is doing little to reassure fans with his words off the pitch either.
Speaking in one of very few releases from West Ham’s media team in the wake of the dismal defeat to Tottenham last time out, Haller’s soulless take on the current situation did little to inspire hope that things will get better anytime soon.
The forward merely offered up the usual cliches and platitudes.
“We needed to have a reaction (against Spurs) and we were playing at home, so of course we had to give a good reaction but unfortunately it came from too far (behind),” Haller told whufc.com.
“We had to score three goals, and it’s not always easy to do that. It’s about small details, I think (our form is) something we need to fix between us, between the players and between the staff.
“The only thing we can do is stick together to find the solution and go forward.”
Actions speak louder than words… thankfully
Action speak louder than words.
And the actions will need to be a lot more meaningful than these kind of passionless sentiments if West Ham are to have any hope of resurrecting their season.
Particularly against fierce rivals Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
