There’s a badge change on the cards and some West Ham United fans are not happy.

West Ham changed their club crest when they moved to the London Stadium.

That did not go down well with the majority of supporters, particularly the removal of the Boleyn castle and the addition of the word London.

One step forward, two steps back

It has been used as a rod to beat co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold and their vice-chairman Karren Brady with ever since.

The trio have been working on repairing their relationship with the fans.

Hiring title-winning manager Manuel Pellegrini and backing him with £100 million being exhibit A.

Billy Bonds immortalised forever

The naming of one of the London Stadium stands as the Billy Bonds stand was a further example.

But just as they start to win over some of the fanbase they may have taken two steps back over something so trivial.

Pictures claim to show new season ticket cards which are set to be issued to fans in the Billy Bonds stand.

Badge change on cards upsets fans

Emblazoned on them is a classic picture of the club’s all-time leading appearance maker.

But the classic badge in the picture has been replaced with the simple crossed Hammers design.

And that has not gone down well with some fans who feel it is further evidence of the club’s soul, identity and history being erased since the move from Upton Park.

Others feel it is much ado about nothing asking ‘does it really matter’.

Here are what the new cards will supposedly look like, judge for yourself.
