Samir Nasri has advised Marseille youngster Boubacar Kamara against joining West Ham this summer, when speaking to French publication Foot Mercato.

The Hammers will undoubtedly be keen to strengthen their central defensive and central midfield departments this summer.

The 20-year-old can operate at both centre-back and central midfield. So it is clear to see why West Ham would want to sign him.

And the Sunday Express claims that the Hammers are closely monitoring the £28 million-rated ace’s situation at Marseille.

Nasri warned Kamara against joining West Ham when speaking to Foot Mercato, however. Instead, the former Hammers flop suggested that the 20-year-old should stay right where he is for the foreseeable future:

“I would advise him to stay. He’s a good player. He was inconsistent last season. They kept him in the midfield, where he is very good. He will be even better but he needs to gain experience. Playing in the Champions League with your training club, you will gain experience. Then you can leave. If he wants to leave now, he needs an important step, not the top right away.”

Kamara has shown all the signs of a potential star of the future during his fledgling career thus far.

And he really would be an exceptional signing for West Ham.

But considering the fact that Manchester City and Chelsea are also thought to be in the race to sign him, the Hammers will have their work cut-out.

Especially now in light of Nasri’s advise.
