West Ham United will be safe from relegation by Friday evening.

That’s if Charlie Nicholas proves correct in his latest Premier League predictions.

West Ham entertain relegation rivals Watford at the London Stadium on Friday evening in a genuine six-pointer of epic proportions.

Should Bournemouth lose at Manchester City on Wednesday and Aston Villa fail to win at Everton on Thursday, the winners of West Ham vs Watford would be unofficially safe by virtue of their vastly superior goal differences.

West Ham and the £120m game

In that scenario if West Ham were to win their relegation play-off it would essentially be worth £120 million to the club.

No pressure then.

Well Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas is predicting exactly that for West Ham this week.

The Scot believes Bournemouth will lose 3-0 at Man City and Villa will draw 1-1 at Everton.

Crucially, though, he is also predicting a 2-1 win for David Moyes and his Hammers side against Watford.

Nicholas predicts perfect week that will see Hammers safe by Friday night

And that means West Ham will be six points clear of both Villa and the Cherries with two games to go with the goal difference worth a point.

“Michail Antonio’s four goals at Norwich were different class,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.

“He plays the No 9 role really well. (Antonio) did miss chances the week before but you could see a guy who has strength and a great appetite for the game. He chases and fights for everything.

“Troy Deeney converted two penalties to get Watford over the line, but they have not been playing well.

‘West Ham have more about them’

“Nigel Pearson will not be fussed about performances now, it’s all about results and he will just wants to see his side reach safety.

“Watford would take a point and move on, but how do you genuinely pick a winner here? With the tension, and both teams after one more win or even a point to be safe, it is too difficult to call.

“But I just think West Ham have more about them at the moment and will win this.”
