West Ham United look a different beast this season and it has not gone unnoticed.
Manuel Pellegrini has totally transformed the club since taking over last summer.
West Ham are level in the Premier League table with fourth-placed Arsenal with nearly a fifth of the season gone.
The Hammers have picked up 49 points from their last 31 Premier League games under Pellegrini. That is the best record outside the top six.
Hammers tipped for Europe
West Ham have been widely tipped to challenge at least the top six this season. Indeed some quarters are tipping the East Londoners for a top four tilt.
The Hammers are unbeaten in six league games since the opening day defeat to Manchester City.
And West Ham star Ryan Fredericks has told the club’s official website that the Hammers are a daunting task for opposing clubs this season.
Fredericks explains what opposition think when they face West Ham
“We’re a different beast this season,” Fredericks told whufc.com.
“We don’t want to just be up there and think ‘it’s nice to be here’.
“We think we’re good enough to stay in and around these positions so we’re going to fight for every point, every goal and I think teams know that when they play against us it’s never going to be an easy game.”
West Ham proved Fredericks’s point at in-form Bournemouth last time out.
Hammers can make statement with Palace victory
Pellegrini’s side showed great attacking threat throughout. And there was plenty of fight too as they came back from the disappointment of throwing away a 1-0 lead to secure a 2-2 draw.
