Robert Snodgrass has lifted the lid on what David Moyes does to try and fire up his West Ham United stars.
It is fair to say Moyes was not a universally unpopular choice among fans to replace Manuel Pellegrini when he returned to West Ham in December.
West Ham fans appreciated the job the Scot did the first time around in keeping them up.
Moyes still has West Ham doubters
But results on the pitch this time around have not improved and West Ham find themselves in the thick of a relegation battle.
Performances had steadily improved, though, even if West Ham are only outside the bottom three on goal difference as things stand with nine games to play.
There remain doubts Moyes is the right man for the job in some sections of the West Ham fanbase.
But Hammers star Snodgrass insists his fellow Scot is the right man for the job.
Snodgrass lifts the lid on how ‘straight talker’ boss operates
Speaking in Q&A while on lockdown, Snodgrass revealed Moyes goes back to the very essence of the game to fire up West Ham’s stars.
“He came in and he’s been straight with the boys,” Snodgrass said (Sky Sports).
“He said: ‘Imagine you were the fan paying the money to go and watch. That’s the level of work that I want and they need to be seeing it’.
“That’s exactly the way that we’ve been brought up.”
Cahill backing Hammers boss too
Snodgrass is the second star this week to praise Moyes.
Former Everton star Tim Cahill waxed lyrical about his old manager in an interview with Sky Sports.
Cahill delivered an assessment that will be sure to excite West Ham fans.
The former Goodison Park favourite described Moyes as a ‘great leader’ capable of building a very impressive squad and team like he did at Everton.
