According to a report from Turkish media outlet Fanatik, West Ham are interested in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.
The 26-year-old joined the Reds from Mainz in the summer of 2016 for around £4.7 million (The Times).
Karius made plenty of high profile errors for Liverpool, however, before being farmed out to Besiktas on loan in the summer of 2018.
The German is set to return to Anfield in the summer, however.
And Fanatik claims that West Ham are keen to sign Karius before the start of next season.
Stats
The 26-year-old Liverpool stopper has kept 68 clean sheets in 266 combined appearances for the Reds, Mainz and Besiktas (Transfermarkt).
In 29 Premier League appearances for Liverpool, Karius has made 51 saves, 14 high claims and seven catches. He kept seven clean sheets in those outings. The German also made two errors leading to goals for the opposition (premierleague.com).
The German is very inconsistent and is far from reliable. In truth, that is actually being rather polite.
In fact, West Ham moving for Karius would make little sense.
The Hammers are well stocked in the goalkeeping department for the next couple of years with Lukasz Fabianski, Darren Randolph and Nathan Trott.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds value the 26-year-old German at around £7.25 million.
And West Ham should avoid a move for Karius at all costs.
