According to a report from TEAMtalk, West Ham want to sign Everton forward Theo Walcott this summer.
Hammers boss David Moyes clearly wants to bolster his defensive ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
And the Scot should really be looking to sign another centre-forward as well.
Quite how much cash Moyes has to spend, however, is unclear. He certainly doesn’t have lavish funds at his disposal though.
TEAMtalk claims that West Ham want to sign Theo Walcott in an effort to provide more competition in the attacking department.
It is questionable as to whether bringing the former Arsenal man to east London would be a wise move, however.
Stats
The 31-year-old, who earns £100k-a-week according to Spotrac, has scored 75 Premier League goals in 346 Premier League games during what has been a fairly underwhelming career (Soccerbase).
So much was expected of Walcott after he burst onto the scene with Southampton 15 years ago. But unfortunately for him, he has never really lived up to that exciting promise.
The 31-year-old Toffees forward has always been overly reliant on his pace. And after numerous injuries and his advancing years, he seems to have lost that electric acceleration that once made him so dangerous.
This is one that West Ham really should be avoiding. There is far better value to be had out there in the market for us.
