Report: West Ham still very much in race to sign £23m ace, deal ‘close to completion’

According to a report from Le 10 Sport, West Ham are vying with Crystal Palace for Brentford ace Said Benrahma.

The Bees winger has been on the Hammers’ radar all summer long, as reported by various outlets including West London Sport and Foot Mercato.

West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has also suggested that David Moyes wants to bring the 25-year-old winger to the London Stadium.

The Hammers sold Grady Diangana to West Brom earlier this month. And despite the club’s owners ridiculous suggestion that we have eight wingers, we are quite weak in the left wing department.

Felipe Anderson is the only player we have who is completely comfortable playing out on the left.

So Benrhama would be a very useful addition for us this summer, albeit maybe not a priority.

Le 10 Sport reckon West Ham are still very much in the race to sign the Algeria international, and a £23 million deal for the winger could be ‘close to completion’.

Benrahma racked up an incredible 17 goals and nine assists in 45 league games for the Bees last season (Who Scored).

In those outings, he averaged 3.9 shots, 2.2 key passes and three dribbles per game (Who Scored).

The 25-year-old would be a superb addition for West Ham. And if David Moyes manages to sign the Algerian, as well as a couple of defenders and an established back-up striker, we could very well enjoy a successful Premier League campaign this season.
