West Ham boss David Moyes is in advanced talks to sign Barcelona striker Martin Braithwaite, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo (August 4th, page 32).

Hammers boss David Moyes will undoubtedly be keen to bring another striker to the London Stadium this summer.

Sebastien Haller has failed to impress since making his £45 million move to West Ham 12 months ago and Albian Ajeti appears set for the exit door.

The problem for Moyes, however, is that he has little cash to spend this summer.

Mundo Deportivo claims that the Hammers are in advanced talks to sign Barca hitman Martin Braithwaite.

It is highly debatable that the Denmark international is the man to help take West Ham forward, however.

The 29-year-old has scored just one goal in 11 games for Barcelona since moving to the Camp Nou from Leganes in January (Transfermarkt).

Braithwaite is somewhat of a journeyman pro, having played for Esbjerg, Toulouse, Middlesbrough, Bordeaux, Leganes and now Barca.

Mundo Deportivo claims that West Ham are willing to pay around £18 million for the former Boro man.

That seems like an awful lot of money for someone with the Dane’s capabilities.

And the Hammers really should avoid a move for the Barcelona forward this summer.
