Hammers boss David Moyes will be keen to bolster his central defensive ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
As will Magpies manager Steve Bruce at St James’ Park.
Newcastle will be in a far stronger position than West Ham to sign Sarr, however, what with their impending new-found wealth.
The 21-year-old Nice centre-back will be out of contract in the summer. So he will be available on a free transfer. But FC Inter News claims that Sarr will demand a large salary and at least a four-year deal.
The Frenchman has made 19 Ligue 1 appearances for Nice this season. During those outings, the centre-back has averaged one tackle, 1.9 interceptions and 1.4 clearances. He has won an average of 0.7 aerial duals per game during those matches (Who Scored). So he clearly needs to work on becoming slightly more dominant in the air.
Sarr is a player with great potential, however. And his availability on a free transfer means that Newcastle or West Ham could secure themselves a real bargain this summer.
Whether the Hammers will be able to compete with the Magpies regarding the 21-year-old’s wages, however, remains to be seen.
