According to a report from the Evening Standard, West Ham are most likely to make moves to sign Championship duo Joe Rodon and Craig Dawson.

The Hammers have been linked with a plethora of new defensive signings already including the likes of James Tarkowski (The Telegraph), Daniele Rugani (Corriere Torino), Duje Caleta-Car (the Sun) and Nikola Milenkovic (Gianluca Di Marzio).
But it seems as though we may have to set our sights a little lower.
The Evening Standard claims that if a move to sign Jonathan Tah doesn’t come off, Hammers boss David Moyes will most likely attempt to bring either Watford’s Craig Dawson or Swansea’s Joe Rodon to the London Stadium.
Dawson would be a very underwhelming signing for us. Dawson is a decent centre-back, certainly at Championship level. But signing him would go against everything David Moyes wants to achieve at West Ham.
Rodon, on the other hand, would not be a bad signing whatsoever.
The 22-year-old made 21 Championship appearances for Swansea last season. In those outings, he averaged one tackle, 1.6 interceptions and 5.4 clearances. The four-capped Wales international also won an average of 3.5 aerial duals per match (Who Scored).
Rodon is the kind of player who could go on to become a genuine star centre-back.
With time ticking down, Moyes must act fast. But with the the transfer window between Premier League and Championship clubs not closing until October 16th, there is still plenty of time remaining for us to sign the likes of Dawson and Rodon.
Let’s just hope it’s the latter who we sign and not the former.
