DaGrosa’s Kapital Football Group has told Southampton’s majority owner Gao Jisheng to lower his price for the club, according to a report from the Athletic.

It is suggested that the American billionaire could switch his attention to West Ham if talks with the Saints fail to progress (Athletic).

West Ham takeover on the horizon?

The Hammers’ current owners David Gold and David Sullivan have been in charge at the London Stadium and previously Upton Park since 2010.

Despite steadying the ship at West Ham initially, the club has failed to make any real progress of note. And tensions between the owners and the fans have reached boiling point over the past few years.

The Hammers fans’ major bone of contention was the club’s move from Upton Park to the London Stadium in 2016.

Despite our love for the Boleyn Ground we all accepted the move as it was needed in order to compete with Europe’s elite.

What we cannot accept it the lies and broken promises. We were told that the move to the London Stadium would help usher in a new era of success. It was claimed at the time that West Ham would be signing world-class players and competing with the very best.

Clearly those promises have not been fulfilled.

David Moyes has worked miracles with the current squad of players. He wasn’t backed adequately in the transfer market in January or in the summer, however. And it seems that as a result, West Ham could miss out on a huge opportunity this season.

In order to make genuine progress, we all know that we need new owners.

Judging by the Athletic’s report, Joseph Dagrosa may well be rocking up at the London Stadium in the not too distant future.

Of course there is no guarantee that he would be any better than Gold and Sullivan. The way things are, however, in our current situation, the grass will surely always be greener.
