According to a report from Football.London, Jack Wilshere is on borrowed time at West Ham United.

In other news…’Never been impressed’, ‘We need him’: Some West Ham fans disagree over potential sale

The 28-year-old joined the Hammers, his boyhood club, on a free transfer in the summer of 2018 after his contract had expired with Arsenal.

He has proven to be a totally disastrous signing for West Ham, however.

Wilshere’s injury problems have not left him. And when the midfielder has played, he has looked slow, laboured and a shadow of the player who burst onto the scene with the Gunners 11 years ago.

Stats

The 28-year-old has played only 18 games for the Hammers. And he has racked up just one goal and one assist in the process (Transfermarkt).

It is clear for everyone to see that his powers have waned. And considering the fact that he is on a mammoth £100k-a-week contract at the London Stadium (Spotac), he surely must be a prime candidate for the chop this summer.

Football.London reckon that’s the case. They claim that Wilshere is on borrowed time at West Ham.

The problem for the Hammers will be finding a buyer for the injury crock. Who in their right mind will want to sign the 34-capped England international, given his suspect injury record?

Perhaps West Ham would be better of coming to a mutual agreement with Wilshere to terminate his contract.

It may the only way for us to get rid of him this summer.
