Cesare Prandelli is the latest name linked with the West Ham manager job.

Manuel Pellegrini is still under pressure despite West Ham’s 1-0 win at Southampton. According to Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web, West Ham are thinking about a move for Prandelli.

West Ham have a long list of potential managerial targets if Pellegrini does get the sack. Prandelli is currently without a club so this would suit the Irons. With a compensation package owed to Pellegrini, West Ham could look to appoint a new manager on the cheap.

Prandelli is a manager with vast experience in Italy. The 62-year-old has taken charge of 11 club teams, as well as spending four years as Italy’s manager. Under Prandelli, Italy came runners-up in Euro 2012.

Juventus was the club where Prandelli enjoyed most of his success as a player. But since becoming a manager, he has won two promotions, no major trophies and a few individual awards.

As well as managing a number of clubs in Italy, Prandelli has recently spent time in Turkey (Galatasaray), Spain (Valencia) and UAE (Al-Nasr). But all three were very brief stints as his ventures outside of his homeland proved unsuccessful.

Most recently, the Italian was back in Serie A with Genoa. He was sacked in June 2019, just over six months after joining. He left Genoa with a win rate of just 16 per cent (four wins in 24 matches).
