According to a report from the Independent, West Ham boss David Moyes is ‘particularly interested’ in signing Manchester United defender Phil Jones this summer.

It is claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is prepared to allow the 28-year-old to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season.
The 57-year-old Scot will undoubtedly need to bolster his defensive ranks this summer.
Angelo Ogbonna has been great this season, but considering his age, he probably only has a few years left playing at the top level.
Could United man be London-bound?
And the Independent suggests that West Ham boss Moyes is eyeing a move for Manchester United defender Phil Jones. The British newspaper claims that the versatile 28-year-old ace has been told that his playing time at Old Trafford will be limited next season if he stays with the Red Devils.
The 27-capped England international joined United from Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2011 for around £17 million (BBC).
Jones was brought to Old Trafford by Sir Alex Ferguson, and many believed he would go on to become a world-class defender at Manchester United.
That hasn’t quite worked out, although the 28-year-old has made 224 appearances for the 20-time league champions. He has also won a Premier League title, an FA Cup and Europa League during his time at Old Trafford.
Experienced quality with a caveat
Jones certainly wouldn’t be the worse signing for West Ham. But his arrival at the London Stadium wouldn’t get the Hammers fans too excited either.
The former Blackburn man can play at centre-back or right-back, so that kind of versatility might just appeal to David Moyes. Especially if he can secure his services for a bargain fee this summer.
Word of warning for West Ham and Moyes, however…
Jones has made just eight appearances in all competitions so far this season. Injuries have wreaked havoc with the 28-year-old’s season. And it could be argued that the last thing the Hammers need is another injury-prone player on big wages who is approaching 30.
Perhaps this is one that Moyes should avoid this summer.
