According to a report from A Bola, West Ham have had a bid rejected for Sporting Lisbon winger Jovane Cabral. The Portuguese outfit are said to be holding out for £23 million for the fleet-footed ace.

Now, we have to say that this seems like a strange report to say the very least.
Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to add defenders to his ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
The West Ham owners have history of spending big on attackers, however, whilst neglecting other areas of the squad that are in desperate need of attention.
The east London outfit have lacked any kind of vision or philosophy in recent years in the manner in which they recruit players.
Scattergun approach to transfers
It has been akin to a drunk reveller in a nightclub, happy to accept anything that comes his or her way at three o’clock in the morning.
Why aren’t we going all out for Nottingham Forest right-back Matty Cash? Why aren’t we pushing harder for Brentford’s Rico Henry or Queens Park Rangers starlet Eberechi Eze?
Cabral is a good player. He is undoubtedly an exciting prospect.
But let’s be honest here. We don’t have any money. So why would we be bidding for a player who we don’t actually need?
David Sullivan and David Gold should be backing David Moyes in the transfer market this summer. And according to A Bola, they are.
But come on chaps, Cabral will not be making a huge difference to our team next season.
Defenders should be on the menu. Not another attacker who will have to adapt to the frenetic pace of the Premier League.
