According to a report from Calcio Mercato, alleged West Ham target Edin Dzeko could now be snapped up for €15 million (£14 million) this summer.

Hammers boss David Moyes will undoubtedly be on the look-out for an established striker to provide more competition for Sebastien Haller next season.

The 26-year-old Frenchman failed to impress last term. And with Albian Ajeti having left the London Stadium for Celtic, West Ham do look rather weak in the centre-forward department.

Money will be tight for Moyes this summer, however.

If the Scot manages to move on some big-name flops, however, he may have some funds to play with.

And Calcio Mercato claims that Edin Dzeko could be signed for £14 million.

Calcio Mercato claimed last month that Moyes is keen to bring the 34-year-old former Manchester City striker back to the Premier League.

Stats

The Bosnian was in fine form last season, racking up 19 goals and 14 assists in 43 games for Roma (Transfermarkt).

And he possesses a very impressive career record, with 337 goals in 706 games for club and country (Transfermarkt).

At 34, Dzeko is past his best.

But he still has a lot to offer at the very highest level. £14 million would be a decent price to pay for someone with such proven calibre.

And the 107-capped Bosnia international could also help bring the best out of Sebastien Haller. The Frenchman could learn a lot from Dzeko, and if the Roma ace is able to provide the Hammers with two good years of service, then Moyes can’t go wrong by signing him.

The ageing former Man City striker doesn’t fit the profile of players Moyes wants to bring to the London Stadium, however.

It will just depend on how far the Scot is willing to veer away from his principles and philosophy this summer in order to bring some instant success to east London.
