According to a report from the Athletic, West Ham boss David Moyes is more than ready to sell Jack Wilshere, but are struggling to do so.
In other news…Some West Ham fans beg Moyes to sign quality Tottenham ace who’s ‘very likely to leave’
The 28-year-old crock-prone midfielder joined the Hammers on a free transfer in the summer of 2018 after his contract had expired with Arsenal.
The 34-capped England international moved to the London Stadium amidst great fanfare, with many West Ham fans optimistically hoping that he would return to his former glories.
But Wilshere has proven to be an absolute disaster signing for the Hammers.
The former Gunner has made just 18 appearances for West Ham, racking up only one goal and one assist in the process (Transfermarkt).
The 28-year-old earns £100,000 per week at the London Stadium (Spotrac). Unfortunately for him and the Hammers, he has been a massively expensive mistake.
David Moyes clearly doesn’t fancy him. Otherwise he would have played him more regularly after football resumed following a three month hiatus in June.
The Scot did suggest earlier this week that the midfielder has been ‘fantastic’ in training, however (Football.London).
In spite of that, the Athletic claims that West Ham are more than ready to move Wilshere on this summer. They are struggling to do so, however.
Seeing a player as unbelievably talented as Wilshere have his career wrecked by injuries is really sad to see. He had the world at his feet 11 years ago.
And it’s now a long way back to the top for the 28-year-old. He will surely leave West Ham. It’s now just a matter of when.
