Calcio Mercato claimed that West Ham made a £55 million bid for the Torino hitman last summer.
The Hammers and Spurs are both in desperate need of adding an established striker to their ranks this summer.
David Moyes needs more strength in depth at the London Stadium. And the same can be said of Jose Mourinho at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Belotti would be an incredible addition for either West Ham or Tottenham. But it seems as though it is Spurs who have the concrete interest in the Italy international hitman at the moment.
Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that the north London outfit have made a £46 million bid for Belotti – one that has been rejected by Torino.
Stats
The 26-year-old scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A outings for Torino last season (Who Scored).
The Italian has an excellent career record, with 139 goals in 329 games (Transfermarkt).
Belotti would undoubtedly be a real hit in the Premier League. But it seems as though he is a slightly unrealistic target for West Ham and Tottenham this summer. Especially considering the current financial climate.
If the Hammers had any real ambition, the 26-year-old Torino ace would undoubtedly be featuring highly on David Moyes’s wish-list this summer.
Spurs have at least shown their ambition by bidding for Belotti. But it seems as though that reported pursuit could be destined to fail as well.
