Report claims Premier League giant's manager is a big fan of West Ham ace Felipe Anderson

According to a report from Football Insider, Arsenal are keen to sign West Ham winger Felipe Anderson this summer, with Mikel Arteta having identified the Brazilian as one of his top transfer targets.

In other news…West Ham can apparently now sign 29-year-old striker…for absolutely nothing

The 27-year-old joined the Hammers from Lazio in the summer of 2018 for around £34 million (The Times).

Anderson impressed during his debut season with West Ham, But he has struggled thereafter.

The pacy South American winger racked up just one goal and four assists in 25 Premier League games last season (Transfermarkt).

His work-rate and commitment was questionable as well. Some West Ham fans think Anderson will come good, but many believe he is just a luxury player who turns up when he wants.

Perhaps he would flourish in a team that plays more free-flowing football. Who knows.

Anderson’s London Stadium days numbered?

Football Insider reckon that we might just get to see whether that is true or not. They claim that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a big admirer of Anderson and the Spaniard wants to bring him to the Emirates this summer.

FI also suggest that West Ham want close to what they paid for the 27-year-old two years ago.

With the Hammers having accepted an offer from West Brom for Grady Diangana (Telegraph), however, selling Anderson as well would make little sense.

Surely it should be one or the other…and preferably Anderson.

If West Ham manage to get anything north of £25 million for the Brazilian they should take it and keep Diangana.

Then David Moyes might be able to start building the young and hungry team that he so desperately wants.
