According to a report from 90 Min, West Ham ace Manuel Lanzini could be a surprise target for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp this summer, if the Hammers go down.

The German is allegedly considering a move to bring the Argentine to Anfield. The former Borussia Dortmund boss is a long-term admirer of the former River Plate ace.

The Mirror claimed that Klopp wanted to bring the 27-year-old to Anfield in 2017 for around £30 million.

The Reds have been in scintillating form this season. And they are on the verge of winning the top flight title for the first time in 30 years.

Liverpool have been the best side in the Premier League by a long, long way.

If you had to pick an area where Klopp could improve his side, however, you might say the Merseyside outfit lack a creative, attack-minded midfielder.

And 90 Min claims that West Ham ace Manuel Lanzini could be an option for the Reds, if David Moyes fails to keep the east London club in the Premier League.

Shock move on the cards?

Let’s be honest here, however…it would be a massive shock if Klopp prised the 27-year-old away from the London Stadium and brought him to Anfield.

The South American has been in woeful form this season. He has racked up just two assists and no goals in 21 Premier League games (Who Scored).

If West Ham go down, however, Lanzini will surely leave for pastures news. But Liverpool seems a stretch.

Although Klopp has a history of snapping up bargains from relegated teams in the past. Just look at Andy Robertson and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Having said that, however, both of those players were signed off the back of stunning seasons with Hull City and Stoke City respectively.

And the same cannot be said about Lanzini for West Ham this season.

We’re going to say that this is one that won’t come to fruition. Stranger things have happened. But it is highly unlikely that we will see the Hammers play-maker in the famous red strip next term.
