According to a report from FC Inter News, West Ham boss David Moyes wants to sign Inter Milan full-back Dalbert Henrique this summer. We could face competition from Newcastle for his signature, however.
Report: West Ham and Newcastle to battle it out for £5.3m defender
Hammers boss Moyes will be desperate to bolster his left-back ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
The same can be said of Magpies manager Steve Bruce at St James’ Park.
The problem for Moyes, however, is that the West Ham owners seem to back him with funds in the transfer market.
Newcastle, meanwhile, are on the verge of strengthening their squad, with Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser closing in on moves to the Toon (Chronicle).
FC Inter News claims that the Hammers have already contacted Inter ace Dalbert’s agent. And the 26-year-old could leave the San Siro this summer with Antonio Conte ready to let him go.
The Brazilian spent last season on loan with Fiorentina. And he really impressed with La Viola.
Stats
Dalbert racked up five assists in 31 Serie A games last season (Who Scored).
In those outings, the 26-year-old averaged 1.7 tackles, 0.6 interceptions and 1.6 clearances per game (Who Scored).
Dalbert is a quick, mobile and technically adept full-back. He would be a clear upgrade on Aaron Cresswell.
If West Ham can pick him up for a reasonable fee, it seems to be a no-brainer.
FC Inter News claims that Inter may demand up to £18 million for the South American’s services, however.
