The 30-year-old has really struggled to establish himself with the Hammers since moving to the London Stadium from Borussia Dortmund for around £18 million in the summer of 2018 (Football Insider).
Yarmolenko has struggled with numerous injuries. But when he has played, it is clear to see that he has found it difficult to adapt to the ferocious pace of the Premier League.
The Ukraine international, who earns £115,000 per week at West Ham (Spotrac), has chalked up just five goals and two assists in 26 appearances for the east London outfit.
And David Moyes clearly doesn’t fancy the former Dortmund attacker.
Big loss on the cards for West Ham…but it’s the right call
Moving him on this summer is surely the correct decision. Even if that means the Hammers lose money on the £18 million they paid for Yarmolenko two years ago.
And Football Insider claims that is exactly what could happen.
David Moyes is allegedly prepared to sell the 30-year-old for £9 million, or even less, this summer.
If West Ham do manage to get £9 million for Yarmolenko, it would actually be good business, considering the current financial climate.
The experienced attacker just hasn’t cut it since joining the Hammers.
And it’s now time for the east London outfit to move him on.
Whether they will be able to get anywhere near £9 million for the 30-year-old, however, remains to be seen.
