David Moyes believes West Ham United outcast Manuel Lanzini has a ‘big role to play’ in the rest of the club’s season.
David Moyes dropped massive clanger sanctioning short term transfer
West Ham were dumped out of the FA Cup on Tuesday night as West Ham’s lack of quality in depth in certain positions was exposed.
Pundits and fans were surprised a player of Lanzini’s quality was not introduced sooner.

Hammers outcast Lanzini consistently linked with exit
The Argentine playmaker looked to be getting back to his best for the Hammers with some decent performances.
But the signings of Said Benrahma and Jesse Lingard have pushed him even further down the pecking order.
According to reports during the last two transfer windows – and as recently as yesterday – West Ham are considering selling Lanzini this summer.
But a new report from Football Insider claims Moyes believes the midfielder has a ‘big role to play’ in the remainder of West Ham’s season.

New report claims Moyes now believes Argentine has ‘big role’ in rest of West Ham’s season
So much so he refused an approach from Paris Saint-Germain to take Lanzini on deadline day.
“A recruitment source has told Football Insider that West Ham knocked back PSG’s approach even though Lanzini, 27, is not a regular member of their starting XI,” Football Insider reports.
“David Moyes believes the attacking midfielder could still have a big role to play for the Irons in the second half of the season.”

Surprising twist for Lanzini as injury situation pushes playmaker up the pecking order
It is a surprising turn of events for Lanzini.
Michail Antonio is an injury doubt. And Andriy Yarmolenko looks set for a spell on the sidelines, As a result Moyes has no senior forwards to call on.
That could mean Lingard is used in a false nine role.
As a result Lanzini moves up the pecking order.
It is likely Benrahma would fill Lingard’s role with Pablo Fornals coming back in on the left.
Lanzini would then be first reserve in what is starting to look a worryingly toothless Hammers attack.
West Ham’s injury situation turned into a mini crisis last night.
Moyes could be without centre-back trio Angelo Ogbonna, Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena for a spell.
And he may also be without Antonio and Yarmolenko for Sheffield United.
