The Independent claimed last week that the Hammers boss David Moyes wants to sign Tomas Soucek’s former teammate for around £4 million this summer.
And it has been suggested that West Ham are leading Southampton in the race to sign the seven-capped Czech Republic international right-back.
Coufal – a two-time league winner with Slavia Prague is a vastly experienced defender. And £4 million would surely represent a real bargain for the Hammers.
i Sport claims that the 27-year-old actually dreams of joining West Ham, but a transfer is unlikely to happen this summer.
Stats
The 27-year-old has scored three goals in 27 league games for Slavia Prague this season (Transfermarkt).
Coufal played a major role for his team this season. And the fact that they conceded just eight goals in the 27 games he played says a lot about the industrious right-back.
The seven-capped Czech Republic international is a very reliable defender. He also likes to get forward and join in with attacks.
The Slavia Prague ace would undoubtedly be a very useful addition for West Ham. And the report claiming that he dreams of a move to the London Stadium will be a boost for the Hammers.
But the east Londoners might just have to wait another year before they can sign him.
