According to a report from Turkish media outlet Fotomac, Fenerbahce want to sign West Ham play-maker Manuel Lanzini this summer. And David Moyes might have a big decision to make.

The 28-time Super Lig champions are closely monitoring the Argentine’s situation at the London Stadium, according to Fotomac.

The 27-year-old joined the Hammers on loan in the summer of 2015, before making his move to east London a permanent one the following summer for around £9 million (Daily Mail).

Lanzini proved to be an instant hit at West Ham. The fans absolutely loved the diminutive Argentine.

But unfortunately for him and the fans, that relationship has soured.

Argentina international’s form has gone south

The former River Plate ace’s form has fallen off the face of a cliff after he suffered a serious injury leading up to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Lanzini, who signed a new £100,000 per week contract last summer (Claret and Hugh), is now wanted by Fenerbahce (Fotomac).

David Moyes must sell before he can buy this summer, according to various reports. So it will be interesting to see how he feels about moving on Lanzini.

It was only a few months ago when he absolutely raved about the 27-year-old play-maker, as quoted by Football.London:

“My thought is he is arguably one of our best players, if not our best player. When I was here before I needed him as much as I needed Marko Arnautovic. He was such a good player for us and I am desperate to get him back to the levels he was at. I trust him, I believe he can get back to those levels. At the moment he is our flair, he is our person that might makes the difference. There is nobody more behind him than me.”

As sad as it will be to see the once brilliant Lanzini leave, it might just be the right decision for West Ham this summer.

Especially considering the need for David Moyes to raise funds.

The Argentine ace will always be thought of fondly in east London. But his time with the Hammers seems to be coming to an end.
