West Ham secured a well-deserved point against Liverpool in Monday night’s Premier League match after a solid display all over the pitch.

The Hammers carved out chances and could have scored more than the one goal that Michail Antonio tucked away.

And West Ham also defended stoutly, nullifying Liverpool’s usually menacing attack of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Mane did score for the visitors, albeit courtesy of some poor officiating from the linesman in the build-up to the goal.

But other than that, West Ham’s defenders coped well with Liverpool’s attacking players, including Angelo Ogbonna.

The Italy international has been criticised for his recent performances as he takes the place of injured Fabian Balbuena in the line-up.

But with Aaron Cresswell, rather than Arthur Masuaku, helping him out at left-back, Ogbonna was back to his best and helped keep things tight at the back.

The 30-year-old made two tackles, two interceptions, five clearances and did not concede a foul, according to Who Scored.

Prior to the game, West Ham fans were worried about Salah vs. Ogbonna. But here are some things they were saying after Ogbonna kept Salah quiet all afternoon.
