Peter Crouch raved about West Ham attacker Michail Antonio after his hard-working performance against Wolves at the London Stadium last night, when speaking on BT Sport.

The 30-year-old has started the Hammers’ first three Premier League games of the season.

Many West Ham fans were bemused by Sebastien Haller’s omission from the starting line-up last night.

But Antonio didn’t disappoint. And the former Nottingham Forest man has made the 26-year-old Frenchman’s task of forcing his way back into the team even harder.

The 30-year-old finished last season in fine goalscoring form. And despite the fact that he has scored only one goal this season, he has still been a real handful for opposing defenders.

Peter Crouch labelled Antonio as ‘magnificent’ when speaking on BT Sport last night (Sunday, September 27th 20:53):

“I have been waxing lyrical about Antonio recently. I think he was magnificent today. He was everywhere.”

Antonio works incredibly hard. The 30-year-old is incredibly powerful and does a great job in holding up the ball for us.

He is far from a natural finisher, however. And it would be great to see Haller start through the middle, flanked by Antonio on the left and Jarrod Bowen on the right.

Considering the manner in which we swept Wolves aside last night, however, it is highly unlikely that David Moyes will change his system or team selection for next weekend’s game against Leicester City.

Antonio continues to make Haller’s job very hard. It’s as simple as that.
