West Ham legend Paolo Di Canio has raved about alleged David Moyes target Edin Dzeko, labelling the Bosnian hitman as an ‘extraordinary striker’, as quoted by Area Napoli.

Calcio Mercato claimed last month that the Hammers boss wants to bring the 34-year-old back to the Premier League this summer.

And the AS Roma hitman could be snapped up for just £14 million, according to a report from Calcio Mercato.

Considering his age, Dzeko obviously doesn’t fit into the profile of player Moyes has repeatedly insisted that he wants to bring to the London Stadium this summer.

But as a stop-gap option, the former Manchester City ace would surely be a great addition for us.

And West Ham hero Paolo Di Canio has described the 109-capped Bosnia and Herzegovina striker as extraordinary, as quoted by Area Napoli:

“Dzeko is really top class, an extraordinary player, he is a leader for Roma. A champion like this is so important for everyone. He has great mobility and imagination. I would not sell him”.

Stats

The Bosnian was in fine form last season, racking up 19 goals and 14 assists in 43 games for Roma (Transfermarkt).

And he possesses a very impressive career record, with 337 goals in 706 games for club and country (Transfermarkt).

It could be argeud that, at 34, Dzeko is already past his best. But he still has a lot to offer at the very highest level. And bringing him to the London Stadium this summer would be a very wise move from West Ham, albeit a short-term one.

If we get two years good service out of the former City hitman, he will be more than worth the money. Sebastien Haller would learn a hell of a lot from the Roma ace as well.
