Pablo Fornals suggested that he would like West Ham to sign Villarreal ace Bruno Soriano, when speaking exclusively to Spanish media outlet Marca.
The 24-year-old joined the Hammers in the summer of 2019 from Villarreal for around £24 million (BBC).
The Spaniard made a slow start to life in east London. But he began to show what he is really capable of around October time.
Fornals is now widely considered to be one of West Ham’s best and most consistent players.
The 24-year-old is a hugely popular player at the London Stadium. And he undoubtedly has a very bright future ahead of him in the English game.
Who would Fornals like the Hammers to sign in the summer though?
The West Ham ace told Marca he would bring his former teammate Bruno to east London in a heartbeat:
“I’d like to bring Bruno to West Ham even if he was 50%.”
At 35, Bruno is arguably past his bast. But he is an absolutely hero at Villarreal, and is still a very capable player.
He has made 416 appearances for the La Liga outfit, racking up 31 goals and 25 assists in the process (Transfermarkt).
The defensive midfielder is out of contract with Villarreal in the summer, however.
So it is not entirely outside the realms of reality that West Ham could sign him.
David Moyes has suggested recently that he will be focusing his recruitment on young and hungry players, however.
So Bruno arriving at the London Stadium seems to be a highly unlikely scenario as things stand.
