Chelsea were prepared to offer Fikayo Tomori to West Ham according to the Athletic, but nothing came of it in the end.

Everton are now closing in on a deal to sign the 22-year-old Blues ace (Sky Sports).
It was thought that Tomori could struggle for regular first-team action under Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea having added Thiago Silva to their ranks this summer.
The 22-year-old defender will undoubtedly be a very useful loan addition for Everton. And the question has to be asked – why on earth were we not in for Tomori?
The Athletic claims that Chelsea were actually ready to offer the young defender to West Ham. But nothing came of it in the end. So take from that what you will.
Stats
Tomori made 15 Premier League appearances for Chelsea last season (Who Scored).
The 22-year-old scored one goal in the process and averaged 1.9 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and 2.8 clearances per game. He also won an average of 2.3 aerial duals per game (Who Scored).
The Chelsea defender is a very solid player. And it is easy to argue a case for him being a far better defender already than Hammers man Issa Diop.
So West Ham not even going for Tomori does seem strange. He certainly would have improved our back-line.
But it seems as though Everton will once again be bolstering their options whilst we continue to stagnate.
