Michail Antonio had yet another goal ruled out for VAR in the 1-0 win over Southampton.
In the second half, Antonio thought he had made it 2-0 to the visitors. But VAR had other ideas. The goal was watched by the video referees, who decided Antonio had unlawfully used his hand.

Antonio also had a goal disallowed against Chelsea for a handball. It seems that the new system has not been too kind to Antonio since his return from injury.
‘Handball decisions are killing me’
But Antonio – widely considered to be the Hammers clown – took to Twitter to poke fun at himself. He posted a picture of himself running with inflated hands and said: “These handball decisions are killing me, can’t work out why it keeps happening.”

Michail Antonio changes West Ham
As it worked out, West Ham did not need that second Antonio goal. It would have been nice to have a cushion towards the end as Southampton came looking for an equaliser. But West Ham held on and picked up all three points.
Antonio has been a major factor behind the two recent wins. He makes West Ham look like a much better team with his tireless work rate and physical presence. He is a nightmare to defend against.
Last night, Antonio could have been given a penalty and he could have had a goal. But he proved why he is so important to this team. And off the pitch, his jokes have kept the morale high among his West Ham colleagues.
