Michy struggled during the first-half but he was his usual menacing self during the second 45.
The 31-year-old was absolutely everywhere. He ran the channels unselfishly for his team and displayed everything that David Moyes absolutely loves about his centre-forward.

Despite his sometimes extremely frustrating play, we all have to be very thankful to have him at the London Stadium.
Micah Richards raves about Michail Antonio
The Hammers ace was unplayable during the second 45 against Newcastle.
And Richards admitted that he was blown away by the West Ham forward, when speaking during Sky Sports’ live broadcast of today’s game (August 15th, 3:57 pm):

“This is brilliant. He wants that number nine shirt and this is why. He was absolutely everywhere today. Look at the intelligence of the run, he sees the space, takes a good first touch, and see you later, the keeper’s got no chance. He’s such an intelligent player, he’s known for his pace and power but there, his movement and the way he thinks about the game. Brilliant.”
If West Ham are to enjoy a successful campaign this season, Antonio will need to remain fit.
David Moyes must bring in another centre-forward to provide adequate cover for the powerful Hammers hitman.
There’s just too much pressure on his shoulders at the moment to remain fit.

Richards’ comments on Antonio prove how important he is to this West Ham team. Let’s just hope that the 31-year-old is given the support he needs before he is run into the ground.
