West Ham United captain Mark Noble has lifted the lid on what he told his teammates ahead of tonight’s huge clash with Sheffield United.
Man United “plan” contradicts what Moyes has said about Lingard’s West Ham future
Results went West Ham’s way again this weekend.
And that means the Hammers can reclaim fourth spot with a win over basement boys Sheffield United.
That won’t be easy given the vast improvement from Chris Wilder’s side of late and West Ham’s injury issues.
Hammers dream of Europe amid best season for 35 years
West Ham’s best season for 35 years has fans dreaming of possible Champions League qualification.
At the very least Hammers supporters want to see the club compete for a Europa League spot.
David Moyes’s side were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United last week to extend the club’s wait for a major trophy to at least 42 years.
Some West Ham fans are worried that disappointment – and the injuries – could derail such a promising season.
But skipper Mark Noble has lifted the lid on what he told his teammates ahead of West Ham’s game against the Blades after their FA Cup exit (whufc.com).
Captain Noble lifts lid on what he has told West Ham teammates ahead of Blades clash
“The boys were gutted (after losing in the cup),” Noble said on whufc.com.
“But I’ve just said to the boys, we need to concentrate on getting into the European places.
“That’s our main aim now. To keep winning, to keep getting in good positions. And try and push this club on to be the best it can be.”
That has to start against Sheffield United on Monday night.
Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton were all beaten at the weekend.
Results go West Ham’s way and Moyes must take advantage, with or without Antonio
While Aston Villa and Manchester United failed to win against Brighton and West Brom respectively.
So Moyes’s side must take advantage.
Especially as Sheffield United have little but pride to play for given they are all but relegated with just 11 points.
Moyes has a host of injury problems. And it could get worse with his only striker Michail Antonio a doubt for the game against the Blades.
Antonio faces a late fitness test.
If he fails to make it then Moyes may be forced to try a false nine formation.
