Manuel Pellegrini was delighted with his team’s performance as they defeated Manchester United yesterday.

The Hammers continued their good run of form by beating Man United 3-1 at The London Stadium.

Felipe Anderson got West Ham off to a dream start with an innovative flick to give the Hammers a fifth-minute lead.

Shortly before half-time, West Ham went 2-0 up. Andriy Yarmolenko hit a left-footed shot, which deflected off Victor Lindelof and looped into the net.

Marcus Rashford gave the visitors a glimmer of hope in the second half. But that was short-lived.

Marko Arnautovic went through on goal and slotted in to put the Irons 3-1 up shortly after.

Pellegrini stuck with his new 4-3-3 system. It has served him well so far, earning a win away at Everton and a draw at home against Chelsea.

West Ham attacked Man United, who looked vulnerable against the hosts’ front three.

After the game, Pellegrini took to social media to share a message with the fans.

He said: “We have always trusted in our work. We are improving and the results are coming now. Thanks for all the support!”

After a tough start to life in East London, his methods are coming across. And West Ham’s league position has improved as they sit 13th, five clear of the drop zone.

Pellegrini took time to praise the West Ham fans for their support and note that the performances are being rewarded with results.
