West Ham and newcastle have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Eberechi Eze, with Queens Park Rangers director Les Ferdinand telling talkSPORT that the club will have to sell one of their prized assets this summer.

The Hammers were linked with a move for the talented 21-year-old by The Sun earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the Chronicle claims that the Magpies want Eze as well.
David Moyes will undoubtedly be looking to bring an athletic and energetic attacking midfielder to the London Stadium this summer.
And the same can be said of Steve Bruce at St James’ Park.
And Eze would be the absolute ideal addition for either West Ham or Newcastle.
The Sun claims that the young Englishman could cost around £20 million. And that would be a real bargain considering his talent.
Star of the future
The QPR ace has racked up 12 goals and eight assists in 38 Championship outings for QPR (Transfermarkt).
And the Hoops director Les Ferdinand told talkSPORT yesterday that Eze could be sold if the club receive a fair offer for his services this summer:
“I’ve always been honest with this. We are a club who, in this moment in time, are going to need to sell one of our assets to keep us going in the direction we want to go. We know that at some stage (Eze will go). He’s been fantastic and there are lots of clubs looking at him. The only hope is that, if we do sell him, we sell him for the right price. We’re realistic, we’re going to have players who are going catch the eye and some stage a big club is going to come for them.”
West Ham will obviously have to stay up, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of beating Newcastle to Eze’s signature.
And perhaps if the Hammers do that, they will have an upper hand on the Toon, considering the fact that the 21-year-old might not be keen to uproot and leave London.
The QPR starlet is a really exciting young prospect. West Ham or Newcastle would be getting a hugely talented player if they do end up signing him this summer.
And Ferdinand’s comments will give both clubs a boost in their reported pursuits of Eze.
