Leeds fan misses the point badly about Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips

Leeds and West Ham fans would have been proud with Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice playing so well for England against Germany last night.

The duo were sensational and completely outplayed Real Madrid star Toni Kroos and Bayern Munich ace Leon Goretzka.

Rice made a slow start and was booked during the early stages of the game. To come back and dominate the match in the manner that he did tells you all you need to know about the 22-year-old, however.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

He was quite simply brilliant in the second-half. Alongside Leeds ace Phillips, Rice dictated the tempo of the game, he fought for every loose ball and was a constant driving force for the Three Lions.

There has always been a debate throughout the Premier League season as to who is better – Rice or Phillips?

We think it’s pretty obvious. The 22-year-old Hammers is a sensational talent and is arguably the best DM in world football…he’s certainly inside the top five.

That’s not diminishing Phillips’ talent in any way whatsoever. The Whites ace is a top class midfielder. And as long as England are still in the Euros, I will support him all the way.

Leeds fan misses the Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips point badly

You don’t have to praise one whilst slating the other. It is allowed to suggest that both players are very, very good footballers!

One Leeds fan didn’t quite see it that way last night, however:

Firstly, no it’s not common knowledge whatsoever. LUFC Joe is entitled to his opinion. Of course he is.

But to suggest that his view is common knowledge is ludicrous!

Anyone who doesn’t rate Dec quite simply doesn’t understand football.

His job is to protect the back four. He has been instructed by Gareth Southgate to do exactly that all throughout EURO 2020.

It’s no coincidence that England are yet to concede a goal at the tournament.

Phillips deserve credit as well of course. The Leeds ace has been superb. Let’s just enjoy them both. Why compare the two? Let’s save that for the Premier League season!
