Everyone connected to West Ham United is in celebratory mood right now.

Star Moyes reportedly wanted back at West Ham looks set for Portugal

West Ham beat Southampton 3-0 in Sunday’s season finale to set the seal on their best ever Premier League points total and secure Europa League football.

Fans were back and have been congratulating David Moyes and his team.

The Scot returned the compliment thanking West Ham fans for their support during a difficult year for everyone.

Cheers all round after record breaking season

Moyes also thanked his ‘immense’ Hammers players and had words of praise for West Ham’s owners David Sullivan and David Gold for allowing him to ‘get his teeth into the job’.

A happy and united camp on and off the pitch then?

Well proof if it were needed that resentment from some fans towards the board remains strong came when vice-chairman Karren Brady sent a message to Moyes, his players and supporters after the game.

Brady took to Twitter to pay tribute to the manager, his squad and the returning Hammers fans.

But there was a backlash to her use of the word ‘we’ when describing the success of the campaign.

Brady sends message to Moyes, players and fans but sparks backlash with use of the word ‘we’

“We did it in style!” Brady said on Twitter.

“A fantastic season made even more special by ending it with a win in front of 10k of our supporters to achieve Europe.

“Thank you to the manager, players and staff for their huge efforts over the season and to the fans for their continued support #COYI.”

Some fans savaged Brady for using the word ‘we’ – claiming Moyes and his players had succeeded in spite of her and the owners.

Others used it as an opportunity to give Brady the chance to finally deliver on promises made in the past.

And many told her Moyes must now be backed with money to improve the squad.

Here are a selection of responses to Brady’s message on Twitter.
