West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has been savaged by fans on social media.
Brady has endured a fractious relationship with Hammers supporters.
She was charged by co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold with leading the club’s bid to get and move to the former Olympic Stadium.
West Ham fans feel she made a string of broken promises regarding the stadium move.
How Brady became Hammers hate figure
Brady has also been criticised for discussing club affairs in her tabloid newspaper column.
That has included criticising players and rival owners.
Indeed comments she made in one column offended late Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha (Daily Mail).
So much so it hurt West Ham’s ability to sign players as he refused to do business with the club when West Ham were desperate for a striker.
As a result Brady has become something of a Hammers hate figure.
But it appears it is catching after fans of the two newest additions to the Premier League also criticised her. It comes after she used her latest column in The Sun to send a warning to newly-promoted Norwich and Sheffield United not to ‘try and do things on the cheap’ after confirming their return to the top flight.
‘Don’t try to survive on the cheap’
“If I can offer promoted Norwich and Sheffield United one piece of advice — don’t try to survive in the Premier League on the cheap,” Brady wrote her column in The Sun.
“Yes, Bournemouth have stayed up on a relatively small budget while Fulham spent £113million last summer after coming up and lasted a season.
“But generally, you must concentrate on trying to buy the best players you can afford — as Wolves did last season.
“West Ham have done well because we have rich Hammers supporters as owners and a 60,000 capacity stadium. That is roughly twice what Carrow Road or Bramall Lane can hold.
“There is little chance they will be so prolific next season and the clubs’ scouts will join every other side in Europe in scouring the globe for strikers capable of scoring a dozen and more a season.
“The price of one alone can blow a decent hole in £100m. And then there is the challenge keeping out Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and Co. Welcome to the toughest league in the world.”
