John Aldridge has warned the Liverpool players about the threat that West Ham ace Michail Antonio could pose at Anfield on Saturday, when writing his column for the Liverpool Echo (print edition, October 27th, page 49).

The Reds legend may be missing something, however.

As things stand, it seems as though Antonio will miss the Hammers’ game against Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield on Saturday through injury.

The West Ham forward limped off against Manchester City on Saturday, having done the same against Tottenham the weekend before.

The word coming out of the London Stadium at the moment is that Antonio, 30, will not be fit to face Liverpool (ExWHUemployee).

And that will be a huge blow for David Moyes.

John Aldridge was clearly unaware of Antonio’s injury problem, however, when writing his column for the Liverpool Echo (print edition, October 27th, page 49):

“They are looking like a decent side at the moment and have got some decent results. They certainly look like a tougher proposition than they were last season. Michail Antonio is a handful up front, and he has caused us problems before. So the back four will be tested again as he’ll put himself about big time.”

There still hasn’t been any official word from West Ham confirming whether or not Antonio will be fit to face Liverpool, however.

So the Hammers are keeping their cards close to their chest. If the 30-year-old isn’t available though, Sebastien Haller will most likely come into the side.

And the 26-year-old will have to put in a real shift if he is to give the Liverpool defenders the same kind of problems that Antonio has caused in the past.
