The East London outfit now have qualification for the Europa League in our own hands heading into the final game of the season.

West Ham welcome Southampton to the London Stadium on Sunday and a point will be enough to secure a sixth placed finish.

What a remarkable turnaround from last year!

David Moyes really does deserve all the credit in the world for the job he has done at the London Stadium.

Lingard has played a huge role in the Hammers’ fine form since the turn of the year.

The 28-year-old moved to West Ham on loan in January and he has racked up nine goals and four assists in 15 games so far.

The Hammers seem to be like an incredibly tight knit unit.

And Lingard opened up about the atmosphere inside the West Ham dressing room after our win over West Brom on Wednesday night:

“It wasn’t pretty, I’ll tell you that. The boys are in the dressing room celebrating a big win. We stuck together through the hard times. We knew it was going to be difficult against West Brom. It is always difficult coming here, especially the first time with fans back, which is amazing. They were going to get behind them and show support for them to win the game.”

Jesse seems to be incredibly happy at the London Stadium.

Signing him up on a permanent deal in the summer will be a big statement from West Ham.

If we manage a point at the very worst against Southampton on Sunday, European football will be confirmed for next season.

And perhaps that will be enough to tempt Lingard into a permanent move to the London Stadium.
