It seems as though he will be a very important player for David Moyes over the next few years.

But which player has the 23-year-old been most in awe of?

The pacy attacker gave the answer to that exact question during a live Q&A session on West Ham’s official Twitter account:

Rice is an unbelievably important player for the Hammers. Arguably he’s their most important.

Stats

Rice has made 100 appearances for the Hammers, racking up two goals and three assists in the process (Transfermarkt).

In 90 Premier League appearances for West Ham, the seven-capped England international has racked up 221 tackles, 140 interceptions, 165 clearances and 610 ball recoveries (premierleague.com).

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move away from east London, however.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Chelsea want to sign the 21-year-old West Ham ace.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail claims that Arsenal could make a move for the seven-capped England international.

But the Daily Star claims that the east London outfit will only sell Rice if their £80 million valuation is met.

Let’s just hope West Ham dig their heels in. He is still under contract until the summer of 2024. So the Hammers hold all of the cards.
