Jamie O’Hara suggested that West Ham recruited very well in the summer, when speaking during an appearance on talkSPORT this morning (Friday, November 22nd, 06:11am).

The Hammers signed Sebastien Haller for £45 million, Pablo Fornals for £24 million, Albian Ajeti for £8 million, Goncalo Cardoso for £2.7 million and Roberto and David Martin on free transfers.

Now, the only one of those six to come out of the first three months of the season with any credit whatsoever is Haller. And even he has been poor over the past six weeks.

So it was perhaps somewhat surprising to hear O’Hara praise West Ham’s summer recruitment.

The former Spurs midfielder told talkSPORT:

“The recruitment that they signed in the summer – I thought they recruited really well. I thought they signed some good players.”

The likes of Fornals and Cardoso could, of course, still come good. But there are some who are clearly just not good enough for the Premier League. Namely Ajeti and Roberto.

O’Hara’s take on Pellegrini’s signings is one that most West Ham fans will not agree with.

And surely even the Chilean himself now realises that he made some big errors in the summer.
