Irritated Thomas Frank has told West Ham not to get carried away by beating his Brentford reserve team in the FA Cup.
West Ham got their first win in seven games and two long miserable months either side of the World Cup break when they beat Brentford 1-0 in the FA Cup third round on Saturday evening.
The Hammers made hard work of it against Brentford’s Bee team.
But after a six-game winless run stretching back to a match against Romanian side FCSB at the start of November, the Hammers got a victory.
Said Benrahma did the damage firing home from outside the box against his old club after a superb tackle in central midfield by Declan Rice.

Bar that champagne moment from Benrahma there was not much magic of the cup about this clash between two sides who met just over a week ago in the Premier League.
It was a war of attrition with the wind and rain making for a dull affair. Winning, being in the hat for the next round, getting some confidence back and keeping a clean sheet were all major positives for David Moyes and his side.
But an irritated Thomas Frank has told West Ham not to get carried away by beating his Brentford reserve team.
With Brentford comfortable in the Premier League, Frank declared ahead of the West Ham game that he wanted to ‘go on a cup run’ (Football365).
West Ham soon put a stop to that and the Bees boss was not a happy man, reminding everyone that the Hammers were more or less at full strength while he had fielded a second string and still deserved to win.
“We were on top throughout the game, I think we dominated the possession, I think we controlled West Ham,” Frank said in his post match presser.

“I think we gave almost nothing away… it was a tight game whereas it should have been a tight win and I think it should have been us but in a game like this you need to take your moments and they had one moment…
“They were almost full strength and we are playing without eight of our normal starters. I think it’s very impressive of the squad. I’m just irritated because I wanted to win. I hate losing.”
Frank did praise Benrahma’s strike in fairness. And he was honest enough to admit West Ham were the better side overall when they beat them 2-0 at the London Stadium.
Brentford had more of the ball with 59% possession to West Ham’s 41% and both sides managed just one shot on target.
Moyes will not be letting West Ham get carried away off the back of one win, but it is a start.
