West Ham winger Nathan Holland has a chance of making the squad for this weekend’s first-team game, reliable insider EXWHUEmployee has revealed.

EXWHUEmployee told listeners on The West Ham Way podcast on Phoenix FM (Tuesday 30th April) that Holland could be involved when West Ham host Southampton.

Many West Ham fans feel that Holland deserves his chance. The young winger has excelled at U23 level and with two games left, he could finally get his first-team chance.

West Ham signed Holland from Everton in 2017 and has since made one first-team appearance. That came as a substitute in an EFL Cup win over Bolton Wanderers.

The ex-England U19 winger has been pushing for more first-team opportunities but injury has restricted his progress.

When other youngsters like Conor Coventry, Joe Powell and Grady Diangana made their first-team debuts against Macclesfield Town, Holland was out injured.

But the 20-year-old is now back and at his best in U23 football. With two goals and eight assists in 11 Premier League 2 matches, Holland is catching the eye.

Manuel Pellegrini has watched Holland in training a number of times this season. And he was an unused substitute in the recent match at Old Trafford.

But now, Holland might get a promotion. When West Ham host Southampton this weekend, Holland will be eager to impress if given his chance.
