West Ham United do not want the season to resume under the current proposals.
That’s according to reliable insider ExWHUemployee this weekend.
West Ham’s relegation battle has been on hold since football was shut down back in March due to the global health crisis.
Premier League clubs have been in discussions over Project Restart with plans to resume the season behind closed doors.
Uncertainty over season but Lanzini let the cat out of the bag
There has been uncertainty and much debate about how, when – or indeed if – the season will resume.
The government has been in talks with the Premier League over a return (Sky Sports).
West Ham star Lanzini let the cat out of the bag in a telephone interview with Argentine radio station Closs Continental last week.
The Argentine made a sensational claim that West Ham players had been told they would start training in groups on May 18th ready for the imminent return of Premier League matches.
Lanzini also made headlines by saying it would be ‘crazy’ to return until a vaccine has been found.
Conflicting messages coming out of West Ham over restart
There have been conflicting messages coming out of West Ham over the resuming the season.
Vice-chairman Karren Brady said the season should be null and void back in March. Those comments reportedly got her in hot water with her boss David Sullivan (The Daily Mail) and she later backtracked.
Brady then wrote in her column in The Sun last week that West Ham and the other 19 Premier League clubs are committed to resuming the season.
And she even laid out West Ham’s phased plan to return to training and matches (The Sun).
Insider claims West Ham are opposing return
Sky Sports claim the current bottom six have serious reservations, though. Particularly surrounding the use of a select number of neutral venues.
But reliable insider ExWHUemployee claims West Ham are one of six clubs AGAINST resuming the Premier League under the current proposals.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, Ex delivered a three-word verdict.
“Yes we are,” ExWHUemployee said when asked if West Ham were one of the six clubs fighting the league’s resumption.

Ex’s verdict comes as Brady claimed in her latest Sun column that grass and even corner flags would have to be constantly disinfected to protect players.
